FLY FISHING INSTRUCTIONS

Fly Fishing, Adirondack FishingOne Day Schools

We also offer special packages for individuals and groups that can include a full seminar on flyfishing along with on stream instruction. Our one day school is ideal for beginners either individually or for small groups up to ten people. One example that comes to mind is a small group of four women that took the one day on stream course. They included a dancer, a bank manager, a professional singer and a helicopter pilot. The helicopter pilot took a beautiful 21 inch brown on her first outing and one of her friends landed a nice, fat 18 incher.

There were many other such success stories resulting in many happy clients. If you've never fly fished before, you should give it a try. You'll find a quiet, relaxing day of fly fishing on a beautiful Adirondack stream or pond will have you coming back many times for a repeat visit.

In the school, you will spend a couple hours with Fran and his staff learning about tying the correct knots, technique of wading a stream, trout's habits and selection of flies along with personal one on one casting lessons. You will then go to a special section of the stream with one of our guide/instructors for the remainder of the day and spend about six hours putting what you have learned to use under the tuteledge of a professional instructor. This is an ideal way to learn to fly fish and will by-pass many frustrating days of trying to teach yourself.

Instead of $175 for a full day as it was last year, it is now $195 but the box of flies and discussion with me at lunch is included so it is really a better deal than last year. Each additional person is $150.

We also have a two-hour teaching session for children on a stocked pond and the price is $75 for a two-hour instruction that includes rental gear and flies. Each additional child is $50. It is a great way to introduce a child to the sport of fly-fishing.

We advise you to reserve your guide date or school date early as we are already getting lots of reservation for the coming season.
